I think we created ‘ana’ to justify the voice in our head, the will we have to starve ourselves, the little thing inside us that tells us what we are doing is right; that we must become emaciated, we must purge and we must starve, and if we binge we must punish ourselves accordingly, we must exercise until we pass out, we must obsess over calories until we become beautiful.
